IWLGA FOURBALL KNOCKOUT COMPETITION 2018

The final of the IWLGA Fourball Better Ball was held on Monday (24^th  September) at Osborne Golf Club.  Thirty-three pairs of ladies started out in the Knock out competition back in April with pairs from Freshwater Bay G C and Shanklin & Sandown making it to the final stage.

Jan Godden & Sue Thompson (FB) and Jean Munds & Penny Last (S&S) battled it out to win the prestigious Rosebowls.  The Sandown pair were quickest off the mark by winning the 1^st hole and keeping the lead until the 4^th when the Freshwater ladies won a run of holes to lead three up.  The Sandown ladies fought gallantly but Freshwater pushed home their advantage and won the contest on the 16^th green by 4&2.

Gillian Fahy refereed the match and then presented the trophies.
